Buchberger wins prestigious Sports Chiro of the Year Award
The American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (ACBSP®) recently held its annual sports sciences symposium in San Diego, California. During the symposium they announced this year’s winner of the prestigious “Sports Chiropractor of the Year” award. This year’s winner is Dr. Dale J. Buchberger of Auburn, NY. Dr. Buchberger originally from Sayreville, NJ currently resides and practices in Auburn, NY.
The ACBSP is a national certifying organization that examines and credentials chiropractors in the field of sports medicine. The ACBSP is certified by the National Organization of Certifying Agencies (NOCA). In doing so the ACBSP maintains strict standards in testing and organizational procedures. The ACBSP currently tests chiropractors in two different levels of certification: The Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) which requires chiropractors to take 100 hours of continuing education cumulating in a written examination and the Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Sports Physicians (DACBSP) which requires 300 hours of continuing education, 100 hours of verified on-field experience, publication of one paper in a scientifically peer-reviewed journal, a multi-part written examination and a practical examination.
In addition to maintaining a private practice in Auburn, NY, Dr. Buchberger is entering his 10th season as chiropractic consultant to the Auburn Doubleday’s (Toronto Blue Jays minor league affiliate) and finishing his 3rd season with the Syracuse University Athletic department. He also completed 6 seasons as chiropractic consultant to the Syracuse Chiefs Baseball team. In March he completed his first season as the strength and conditioning coordinator for the Auburn Stingrays swim program.
