On April 3, 2010 Dr. Dale Buchberger was invited by the Auburn YMCA to discuss prevention of shoulder and elbow injuries in little league baseball. He was part of a group that included Joni Brown (YMCA child care director), TJ Gamba (Auburn HS Varsity Baseball) and Marc Delpiano (Pittsburgh Pirates). Dr. Buchberger discussed the anatomy of Little League shoulder and elbow, and the most common causes of injuries such as high pitch counts, poor mechanics and throwing a curveball or slider between the ages of 9 and 14. He was able to bring the various components of the program together and give the 25 coaches of the Auburn Little League information to have a successful and injury free season.
